I write in a lot of different venues, but true crime is my forte because I write about what I know best - true crime cases I personally investigated. I have been a sworn law enforcement officer in the state of North Carolina since 1989, the last ten as a Chief of Police and the years prior to that investigating major violent crimes, and some pretty disturbing ones at that. These are the stories that must be told, such as the case in First Degree Rage: The True Crime Story of 'The Assassin,' An Obsession, and Murder.
