Secrets of Coral Caste
“I have discovered the secrets of the pyramids, and have found
out how the Egyptians and the ancient builders in Peru, Yucatan, and Asia, with only primitive tools, raised and set in place blocks of stone weighing many tons!”
– Edward Leedskalnin
It's no mystery that the pyramids are, well, a mystery. These supposedly man-made structures are precise, large, and made of extremely heavy sections before the age of modern tools. Their precision and weight of the blocks have caused many people to believe that there was more to the construction than the man-power of the thousands of slaves that built it. While you'd have to travel to Egypt to see these iconic structures, Florida residents have a similar story that took place in their own backyard.
After a young man, Ed Leedskalnin, had his heart broken when his 16 year-old fiance called of their engagement one day before the ceremony. They say people do crazy and dramatic things for love and poor Ed was no exception. He decided to erect a monument in honor of his lost love which he made out of giant coral blocks using entirely with hand tools. Although he only had a fourth grade education, Ed was apparently able to figure out the secrets of the building of the Pyramids and was able to put up walls that weighted over 30 tons each by himself over the course of 28 years. Despite the face that he had a small frame and weighed only 110 pounds, Ed was able to lift blocks that on average weighed more than those used to build the pyramids. You'd expect to hear that neighbors and random people who passed by had seen Ed outside all day working on this massive project. However, he did it only in the dead of night by lantern and there were never any witnesses. Which leads us to wonder: how?
Many people consider this astonishing work to have been build using anti-gravity methods or magnetic currents. It is even rumored that Ed possessed supernatural abilities, such as levitation. It remains unclear exactly how Ed was able to accomplish such a feat and since his death in 1951.
