Turney assembled a remarkable group of professional and citizen scientists for the daring journey. Their aim: to discover what changes are taking place in this globally important region, due to the arrival of a giant iceberg the size of Rhode Island, known as B09B.

During their voyage south and on the ice, Turney and his team achieved a number of scientific firsts for the region. The data is providing a rich scientific trawl. They found how shifting winds were causing dramatic temperature changes in the furious fifties; they discovered significant changes in ocean circulation with the arrival of B09B; and they learned how local penguin populations were suffering from more extensive sea ice. While homeward bound, their research vessel was trapped by a massive breakout of sea ice that moved in from the east. L. Sydney Fisher

. Sydney first developed a love of reading during her childhood years.  She spent many weekends and summer vacations at the local library where she would often sit on the floor of the children's section and thumb through dozens of books trying to decide which ones she wanted to take home.  This love affair with reading and her insatiable desire for knowledge launched a curiosity into the supernatural and unexplained world of discovery that ultimately spawned the birth of L. Sydney Fisher, the writer.  She wrote her first novella by the age of fifteen.  Her creative pursuits continued in high school where she was active in Theatre and Dance and awarded the Best Lead Actress Award during her senior year.  She first entered college as a Theatre/Journalism major but later changed her course of study. At the age of eighteen, Sydney was stricken with a chronic illness and life circumstances that forced her to change her pursuit of the stage, but her love of writing never faded.

Her family's roots are deep in Northeast Mississippi, but she also spent time as a child in Missouri and Tennessee. She was born to Landon and Nettie Jean in Memphis, Tennessee where her father was an accountant and her mother was a registered nurse.  At the age of four, she moved from the Missouri boothills to North Mississippi after her parents separated.  Years later, she earned a Bachelor of English from The University of Mississippi and a Master's in Higher/Adult Education from The University of Missouri.

L. Sydney has been inspired by the writings of famous authors Stephen King, James Patterson, Dean Koontz, Ann Rule, Mary Higgins Clark, and Agatha Christie.  Sydney's true hauntings and paranormal books will always contain some element of truth, so be observant.  She is fascinated with the paranormal and has done extensive paranormal research for over twenty years.  She calls herself a "Literary Indiana Jones".

Sydney lives on a HAUNTED landscape with the spirit of a white wolf and at least one ghost that shares what was once a Native American village in Northeast, Mississippi. When she isn’t writing, she’s researching supernatural mysteries or another haunted location and its history.  She is the proud mom of two children and a Golden Retriever mix named Willie Wonka who has no idea that he is really a dog.

 Hitler and the Secret Alliance

Linda Godfrey

For almost a quarter of a century, ever since breaking the original story of the Beast of Bray Road as a small town Wisconsin newspaper reporter, I've been chasing the elusive upright canine some folks call werewolves. People from around North and South America and even Europe and Australia have contacted me with reports of their encounters. Sometimes their stories describe Bigfoot, giant birds or water monsters, as well. There's a world o'weirdness out there! The fact that people keep seeing these things is what drives me to keep searching, investigating, speculating and writing about them. And after 25 years and 17 published books, I'm still tracking those unknown trails.

Linda Moulton Howe

Linda Moulton Howe is a graduate of Stanford University with a Masters Degree in Communication. She has devoted her documentary film, television, radio, web, writing and reporting career to productions concerning science, medicine and the environment.

Ms. Howe has received local, national and international awards, including three regional Emmys, a national Emmy nomination and was an honored producer for medical and science programming in a WCVB-TV (ABC) Boston station Peabody. Linda’s award-winning documentaries have included A Strange Harvest that explored the worldwide animal mutilation mystery that has haunted the United States and other countries since the 1960s and continues to date.

Other award-wining productions are Poison in the Wind and A Sun Kissed Poison, which compared smog pollution in Los Angeles and Denver; Fire In The Water about hydrogen as an alternative energy source to fossil fuels. That work was honored in New York City with a 1978 National Emmy Finalist for Community Service.

Linda’s investigations and TV broadcasts about environmental issues in Colorado were also recognized and honored by the Environmental Protection Agency with a Citizen Participation Award from actor and environmentalist Robert Redford at the Denver EPA headquarters on January 1, 1980.

Paralleling her air and water investigations from 1976 to 1979, Linda began in September 1979 to investigate the phenomenon of bloodless and trackless animal mutilations that were occurring not only in Colorado, but every state in the U. S., every province in Canada and around the world in both hemispheres.

Her production A Strange Harvest was broadcast on KMGH-TV as a 90-minute evening special on May 25, 1980, to the largest audience in the station’s history for a locally-produced documentary and earned Linda another Regional Emmy.

During her 9-month-long travels from September 1979 to May 1980 to film the bizarre, bloodlessly mutilated animals in Wyoming, New Mexico and throughout Colorado, law enforcement and ranchers told Linda off and on the record that “the perpetrators of the animal mutilations are creatures from outer space.”

A decade later in June 1989, Linda Moulton Howe released An Alien Harvest – Further Evidence Linking Animal Mutilations and Human Abductions to Alien Life Forms.

This is the first of three large books about her ongoing investigations of government policies of denial and cover-up about the worldwide, bloodless animal mutilation mystery that includes not only cattle, but horses, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, foxes, cats, dogs and wild animals such as deer, elk, reindeer and Australian kangaroos. A new and expanded 2nd Edition of An Alien Harvest was awarded Best Non-Fiction by the Arizona and New Mexico Southwest Book Association in December 2015.

Ph.D, Chandra Wickramasinghe

Chandra Wickramasinghe is a Sri Lankan-born British mathematician, astronomer and astrobiologist of Sinhalese ethnicity. His research interests include the interstellar medium, infrared astronomy, light scattering theory, applications of solid-state physics to astronomy, the early Solar System , comets, astrochemistry, the origin of life and astrobiology. A student and collaborator of Fred Hoyle, the pair worked jointly for over 40 years as influential proponents of panspermia. In 1974 they proposed the hypothesis that some dust in interstellar space was largely organic, later proven to be correct.

Hoyle and Wickramasinghe have advanced the argument that various outbreaks of illnesses on Earth are of extraterrestrial origins, including the 1918 fly pandemic and certain outbreaks of polio and mad cow disease. For the 1918 flu pandemic they hypothesised that cometary dust brought the virus to Earth simultaneously at multiple locations—a view almost universally dismissed by experts on this pandemic. Claims connecting terrestrial disease and extraterrestrial pathogens have been rejected by the scientific community.

Wickramasinghe has written more than 30 books about astrophysics and related topics; he has made appearances on radio, television and film, and he writes online blogs and articles. He has appeared on BBC Horizon, UK Channel 5 and the History Channel. He appeared on the 2013 Discovery Channel program "Red Rain". He has an association with Daisaku Ikeda, president of the Buddhist sect Soka Gokkai International, that led to the publication of a dialogue with him, first in Japanese and later in English, on the topic of Space and Eternal Life.
