And she was getting ready, getting dressed to go to this party, and she had taken it off and placed it on the corner of the bedside table getting ready. And when she came back to put the ring back on, the ring had gone.

And so she looked everywhere and took everything off the bedside table, making sure it hadn't slipped under something else, looked on the floor, wondering if maybe it had fallen into a crack on the floor or something like that.

Couldn't find the ring anywhere. Off we went to this party, and she was so upset by having lost her mother's ring that she said, we've got to go home. We've got to go home early.

And so we did, and we came home, and we walked in the house. And to this day, I don't know exactly why I said it, but I said, Mrs. Hunt, give us back that ring.
